Last month, DOST XII (Department of Science and Technology XII) had conducted a seminar- workshop to fifty- one science inclined educators held at the Mormon Cultural Center in General.Santos City.
The said training activity is expected to stimulate the creativity and inventiveness of the educators in the region to further enhance their teaching skills on science investigatory project development.
The fifty-one participants are composed of Science teachers and faculty staff from the City Schools Division of General Santos City.
Dr. Claro M. Santiago, a Scientist and Consultant from the Industrial Technology Development Institute (ITDI) of the DOST and Assistant Research Director at the University of Perpetual Health Systems Delta, Las Piñas City, was the resource speaker of the event.
The significance of science investigatory project, techniques for developing one’s creative knowledge, research process, writing the report and project presentation are discussed.
In addition, the speaker detailed the different aspects covered under the Intel Philippine Science Fair (IPSF). After the lectures, participants had a workshop wherein they came up with their own investigatory projects.
With this kind of training activity educators will be enhanced in giving more quality education for the students. This also served as a training ground for young Filipino inventors for the development and enhancement of their creativity, potentials and for them to realize their true resourcefulness in problem solving and inventions/innovations.
