College students from public and private schools were invited by The Technology Resource Center (TRC) of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) to join the Teknobiz Idea Challenge on February 24.
According to Tomas Briñas, DOST Bicol regional director, the youth business idea contest is designed to enhance and further hone their creativity and entrepreneurial skills and become successful techno-preneurs.
Participants may submit their technology-based business idea from December 2009 to January 2010. Participants must form a team with five members who are bonafide students of a CHED-accredited educational institution. Final judgement will be on February 23 and the awarding ceremonies will be on February 24.
Criteria for judging is as follows:
- innovativeness, market potential, and feasibility – 25%
- social impact – 15%
- environmental friendly – 2%
