Provincial Coordinator Allan Francis Dara-ug, nine applicants passed the screening, five from Iloilo City and four from Negros Occidental.
Josh Aaron Rongo, Glenmon Liboon, Aga Seminio from Bacolod City and Jhebe imperial of Silay City qualified in the DOST-SEI (Department of Science and Technology Science Education Institute) scholarship 2008.
The scholars will avail of tuition and other school fees plus allowance for prescribed textbooks and essential school supplies per academic year.
In addition, they will also receive a monthly allowance and free transportation on reimbursement basis for those studying outside from their province.
These benefits are part of the government to attempt to persuade students enroll in science courses to build up the country’s science and technology program.
